About Orchard House - Northampton
Our
Story
Orchard House opened its doors in August 2019 as a Supported Living home for care leavers. Originally a foster home, its dedicated former carers sought to create a better environment for young care leavers in Northamptonshire—an inviting, homely place in a great location, supported by staff with the expertise to meet the diverse needs of young people.

Using PACE (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, and Empathy) methods to engage with young people, we strive to make a positive and lasting impact on their journey to independence.
We carefully match prospective residents to ensure they join an environment where they feel at home, safe, and able to thrive alongside their peers.

Our experienced staff are always on hand to support young people, helping them develop a respectful and inclusive culture within the shared home environment. By maintaining appropriate boundaries and mentoring them through real-life experiences, we help young people foster social inclusion and gain a deeper understanding of their expectations and responsibilities.

We work closely with Local Authorities and follow each young person’s care and pathway plan to ensure they continue their education, training, or work experience.
Our aim is to support them in developing the skills and confidence needed to secure meaningful employment.

Through established partnerships with local colleges, training providers, and employment charities, Orchard House has a proven track record of helping young people access work experience and other opportunities that set them on the path to success.
