About us ...
At Orchard House, we are an Ofsted-regulated provider of supported accommodation for young people aged 16-17, helping them navigate their pathway to independence.
Our primary focus is on supporting young people in care, including those who may be at risk of homelessness, unaccompanied asylum-seeking children, or those requiring additional social care support.
We also offer continued support to young people beyond the age of 18, helping them further develop the essential life skills and independence needed to transition successfully into adulthood.
Our approach begins with our tailored Life Skills Program, which includes personalised one-on-one sessions, an engagement incentive scheme, and plenty of opportunities for fun and personal growth.
We provide:
-
24/7 Staffed Homes – offering stability, safety, and round-the-clock support.
-
Step-Down Houses (Floating Support) – a gradual transition for young people to build independence in a supportive environment.
Our homes are designed to be much more than just a place to stay.
We take pride in maintaining them to a high standard, with good-quality furnishings that demonstrate that all young people are valued and cared about. By creating safe, secure, and homely spaces, we encourage each young person to take pride and value in their surroundings and feel empowered to make their space their own.

At Orchard House, we are committed to fostering stability, building confidence, and supporting young people to achieve their full potential and developing each young person's independence goals.

"Success Through Support"
The journey to independence is one of the most significant steps in a young person’s life. At Orchard House, we understand that success isn’t just about having support—it’s about having the right kind of support.
Young people need positive role models, mentors, and peers who can inspire and guide them. That’s why we focus on providing tailored, compassionate support that empowers young people to build confidence, resilience, and the skills they need for a brighter future.

Well Being Sessions
At Orchard House, we prioritize the wellbeing and mental health of our young people, recognizing that a strong foundation of support is essential for personal growth and success. Through dedicated sessions, we provide tailored guidance to help young people stay on track, build resilience, and feel supported as they navigate their journey toward independence.

This approach ensures that every young person has the opportunity to achieve their full potential, fostering stability, confidence, and the skills needed to pursue their future aspirations with success.

Key Life Skills
At Orchard House, teaching key life skills is an integral part of daily life in our homes. Our staff work closely with young people, tailoring sessions to fit around their routines and priorities, such as education, employment, and training.
These sessions are designed to equip young people with the practical skills and confidence they need for independent living. Staff carefully track each young person’s progress and document their achievements in their personalized Journey to Independence book. This book becomes a valuable keepsake that they take with them when they move on and can refer to in their time of need, but also celebrating their growth and serving as a reminder of how far they’ve come.
By embedding life skills into daily activities, we ensure that young people leave Orchard House ready to face the future with resilience, skills and confidence in themselves.

Fun Events
At Orchard House, we believe that life is about more than just achieving independence—it’s also about creating unforgettable memories. That’s why we host a variety of exciting events throughout the year!
Our annual calendar includes everything from our very own festival to thrilling trips like Hyde Park’s Winter Wonderland, beach days, Alton Towers and local festivals.
We’re also proud to be known for having one of the best Halloween displays in the area, complete with a spooky after-party featuring ghastly, ghoulish games for all the residents to enjoy.
These activities provide our residents with opportunities to bond, have fun, and build cherished experiences during their time with us.
